Library Cards

Who can get a library card?
Eastham property owners and Massachusetts residents may register for a library card at no charge.  A driver's license or photo id is required to register.

Visitors and out-of-state residents may also register for a one-year library membership for a $5. fee.

Children under 14 must have a parent or guardian sign permission for the child to borrow materials.

What are my responsibilities?
Each library member is responsible for keeping library materials charged to their card in good shape, and to return or renew their
items within the agreed-on time period.

Responsibilities also include payment of overdue fines.

 

 

What are the fines charged on overdue materials?
On all materials there is a one-day grace period before the fines start accruing.
 

For books, books on cassette, books on CD, the fine is $.10 a day. 

 

For DVDs and videos, the fine is $1.00 a day.

What if I lose my card?
A replacement fee of $1.00 is charged for a lost card.

 

 

Renewals
Books may be renewed twice if not on reserve. This may be done in person, by phone, or online (pin # needed).
 

Returns
For your convenience, all materials may be returned in outdoor book drops located along the incoming driveway next to the library building.
