First Friday Free Films
This month's film: Glory
Please join us in the Trailer at 6:00 on Friday, February 6, for Glory, the 1989 movie that earned Denzel Washington his first Academy Award. Matthew Broderick and Morgan Freeman also star in this true story of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first African-American unit formed during the Civil War. Their sacrifice and bravery in the Battle of Fort Wagner opened the door to combat duty for thousands of black soldiers, which for Lincoln was the key to ending the war. This is a must for history buffs!
