For Youth
The Merrill Room, dedicated to youth services, contains books, magazines,
music, and computers for children and young adults. There is a play area
well stocked with toys that also has comfortable seating for adult
caretakers, and extensive Parenting and Educational Resource collections. A
story time for preschoolers is presented each week, and additional programs
for youth are provided throughout the year.
Unique Features
The library has an extensive genealogy and local history collection and
subscribes to a number of online genealogy resources. The archives of
the Eastham Historical Society, which include many primary source materials,
are stored in the Vivian Andrist Room (access by appointment).
Reference Services
Reference and information service, in person, by phone, or via email, is
available. The library is a member of CLAMS (Cape Libraries Automated
Materials Sharing) www.clamsnet.org) which enables patrons to request
materials not in the library. Requests may be made in person, by phone, or
online (pin # required).
Library Cards
Library cards are available without charge to all Massachusetts residents.
An annual non-refundable donation of $5 is required of out-of-state
residents who do not own property in Eastham. |
